I am Allan E. Musterer. I was born during World War II in the small town of Garfield, New Jersey. We were a family of four, my parents and my younger brother. I attended public school and graduated from Garfield High School. Four years later I graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I began my professional career at Foster Wheeler Corporation in Livingston, New Jersey. During my first 5 years there, I enrolled at NJ Institute of Technology taking advanced engineering courses followed by pursuit of an MBA at Fairleigh Dickenson University. I graduated with an MBA in Management and I was promptly sent to San Diego, California to work for Foster Wheeler at General Atomics. Three years later I joined General Atomics where I worked for four years. I then moved to Lamco Industries designing nuclear plant pressure vessels and heat exchangers. A few years later I moved on to IRT Corporation for ten years serving as engineering and manufacturing manager and project manager. After ten years at IRT, I worked briefly as a sales engineer for Morgan design. An opportunity arose to start my own business with a friend. We founded 4-WARD Tech, Inc. designing medical products. I continue to work at 4-WARD Design, Inc. the offspring of 4-Ward Tech, Inc.
I married my wife Carol in New Jersey while in graduate school. Shortly after we moved to San Diego, I was ordained as a minister in the new Apostolic Church. Together, Carol and I founded a number of congregations in the San Diego area where we served for 37 years. We have a son Randy who became a cancer research scientist following graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and currently is the owner of three successful sushi restaurants in Silicon Valley.
Growing up was filled with many life experiences that I eventually identified as profound turning points. The impact these turning points had on my life prompted me to build this blog as a means to share them with my readers.
It’s going to be end of mine day, however before
end I am reading this fantastic post to improve my experience.
I appreciate you sharing this blog post.Much thanks again. Great.
Allan, I decided, after reading multiple blogs, to start at the beginning, and read each year!
I’m really enjoying the reading, and with so much that’s been going on in my life since Dad fell and broke his hip, his stay in rehab, and subsequent passing, your turning points have shown me how to see the turning points in MY life! Thank you so much, and especially for your love, and friendship for so many years!
